I was born in Béjar, Spain, in 1962. My father was a photographer, and I grew up amongst cameras, lenses, films and developers. At the age of thirteen I became particularly interested in the expressive potential of Photography, and began reading, studying and practicing different techniques. For several years, I have been collaborating as a redactor with the Spanish photo-magazine FV, also as a translator of several books from English into Spanish. I felt interested in panoramic Photography from the beginning. My first pinhole handmade camera was a panoramic model. I have worked with different panoramic cameras —from Hasselblad XPan to Horizon or Noblex— and tried out the possibilities of the panoramic stitching technique for a long time prior to the digital era. Nowadays I make use of different digital cameras and lenses —Canon, Nikon, Sony—, according to the features of the scene and the format of the final picture; for 360º panoramas, my favorite lens is the 10,5mm f/2.8 Nikon fisheye.
