On Sunday the 24th of September I was on tour to shoot for the Energy event. I had planned to shoot a glacier in the Swiss Alps. So I took the classical Pass route: Furka-, Grimsel-, Susten-Pass.

At the Furka-Pass I shot several panos of the Rhone Glacier and also inside the glacier. For me a Glacier is a form of very big natural energy, which can form landscapes, spending water to the valleys and is the birthplace of many big rivers. As here for the Rhone which find its way through the Alps to the Mediterranean Sea.

After finishing the shooting I drove towards Grimsel Pass. In the town below the pass, Gletsch, there was an Old Steam Train from the historic "Furka Coghweel Railway" . Just out of interest I stopped, made some pictures of the train and then asked the train conductor if I could make a panorama inside the locomotive. He said yes and I was very happy. It was warm and very dark inside and with all the happiness I felt, through this surprising opportunity, I forgot to bracket, so the outside of the train is overexposed.

The whole locomotive is also a sort of energy, more the old fashioned way. An elegant way to show the power of this machine. It is also a Energy which you can feel, which you can hear and which you can smell. So I decided to put this QTVR online instead of the glacier. The Glacier panoramas can be found at my website http://www.panodrom.de under the "Alpen" section. So I hope you enjoy it.
