Introduction

The World Wide Panorama event of the second quarter of 2019 is a collection of panoramas related to  „revival“. Not just our Revival, but a celebration of the Revival of everything that is worth while.

Theme Essay: Revival

The essay conveys the team’s idea of the event. It is usually published together with the Theme announcement and offers a starting point for the contributing photographers.

REVIVAL

by Katherine Wheeler

Some ideas refuse to die. The WWP is one of them. Through many years and trials we’ve pulled through, and become a bigger and better community for it.

Our next theme is “Revival”. Not just our Revival, but a celebration of the Revival of everything that is worthwhile.

Look around you and see that which is old … and has become new again. Tell us about it in pictures.

Often Revivals take a new and exciting perspective on old ideas. Sometimes they just can’t be improved on …

Some things to think about and get you started:

Blacksmithing - an ancient art still practiced by a few and growing in popularity.

Sea/tree change - reversing the drive to the big cities and reviving small towns in the process.

Fashion - all bets off!!!!! Anything goes … and comes back!

Food - what traditional dishes have suddenly become popular again?

How have they changed?

Music - how it changes with the years to stay relevant and exciting. eg orchestral flashmobs;

Arts and craft - tried arm-knitting yet? Or yarn bombing/storming? How about the wonderful “graffiti” streets giving talented artists buildings as canvases.

Transport - we might think electric vehicles are new, but do you know they date back to 1832?

In the aftermath of natural disaster - how communities revive their cities, towns and villages;
