Faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates perform experiments here when they need access to high-intensity X-rays. These scientists come from around the globe to use the equipment here.
Amongst the machines at CHESS, one can find these: goniometer, shutter/collimator assembly crystal automounter, collimator, rotation stage, crystal-viewing camera, photoelectron monitor, Huber four-circle diffractometer, energy-dispersive detectors, laser, double bounce monochromator, scanning x-ray microscope, and a wiggler.
