Elevation--Corpus Christi Backyard, Texas

This immersive image is an example of a Corpus Christi neighborhood in South Texas. This housing development is situated on a bluff called Flour Bluff. Most of these properties are sized at an acre or more.

The temperature on the roof is already in the high nineties. The brownish tint to the grass is due to the sandy soil, high temperatures, and lack of water. This area is in for a really hot summer.

Scroll around, notice the water well in the back yard with all the garden hoses running to it? Most properties use water from water wells to irrigate the yards. Also in the back yard of this property, is an aerobic unit which converts all sewer waste into non-potable water for yard irrigation.

The water in the distance is the Oso Bay which leads to the Laguna Madre which leads to the the Intra-coastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico.

This area of Texas is popular for wade fishing, kayak fishing, and bird watching because it's on the migration path for many birds as they migrate between North and South America across the Gulf of Mexico.
