The stained-glass window is located in a quarry and Iron building built in 1910 by the Engineer Manuel Arratia to accommodate the Market 16 de Septiembre or Mercado del Carmen of the city of Toluca that functioned until 1975. It possess an structure of Art Noveau and Neoclassic style with an area of 5 thousand square meters.
This Stained Glass Window is a monumental piece of 3,200 square meters with more than 30 thousand segments and half a million of crystals of 28 different colors coming from different parts of the world.
The Stained Glass Window is a series of scenes that symbolically projects the man’s idea in search of the light, the good and the wisdom to elevate its spirit to liberate it from the shadows of evil and the ignorance in an epic without beginning or end.
The Stained Glass Window and the botanical garden were inaugurated in 1980 and was totally finished in 1990 with the contribution of the stained glass-ceiling that represents the milky way and joins together the “hombre sol” (Sun Man) with the Galaxy of Andromeda.
In the spring equinox, the solar disc crosses the heart of "El hombre Sol", "The sun man", causing a beautiful explosion of lights.
