Longwood Gardens was started in 1906 by industrialist Pierre S. du Pont as a place for horticultural preservation. His passion for gardening has created one of the world's great hoticultural showplaces. This year Longwood Gardens, located just west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is having its 2006 Centennial celebration.

On my visit, I made it to the Conservatory before the rains arrived and walked the paths through its various sections looking for my 360 panorama opportunities. I took pictures of the Venus Fly Trap plants but upon review I chose the Orchids Room and Banana House area for it's color and space and for the visitors who fell into the view of my panorama. People gathered here because "At any one time 300 to 500 plants are at peak bloom and add color and fragrance to the air."

Precision is: Medium. Nearby, but not to the last decimal.

Equipment
No tripods were permitted so I had to resort to hand holding the camera over my head for this 360 view. Taken with a Canon EOS 5D and a "shaved" Nikkor 10.5mm fisheye lens. 4 raw shots at f8, ISO 800, 1/15 sec, processed in Adobe Camera Raw2 . Assembled with PTGui 5.8.4, Smartblend 1.2.2 (great for fixing parallax errors), Photoshop CS2 and Cubic Converter.
