Alexanrovsky sad (Alexander Garden) was created by the architect Bovet in 1819-1821, as a part of broad plan of recovering Moscow after damages caused by the Napoleon's army in the 1812. It was named after reigning Emperor Alexander I.

Alexander garden stretches alongside the western wall of Kremlin. Here are located many hystorical objects - Italian Grotto, Kutafya Tower of Kremlin, the Obelisk originally erected to celbrate 300 years of Romanov dinasty but 5 years later converted by bolsheviks into monument of Revolution, The Thumb of Unknown soldier.

It is popular place among Moscovites and tourists, ecspecially in hot summer nights - fountains and tree's foliage brings releaf from the city heat.
