Well the weather may have been bright but the temperature definitely wasn't ready for swimwear. A good breeze was blowing across the site and being scantly dressed and wet wouldn't have been a good idea.

There has always been a water activity on this site, but before 2010 it was a classic shallow outdoor paddling pool. Then after being awarded £850,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to improve the park the pool was replaced by the "Splash Pad", an area open 7 days a week between April and September.

Once the warmer weather arrives the area is a hive of activity with children of all ages playing around the water jets and through stream that runs across the site. On a hot and sunny day its a perfect way to have fun and keep cool.
