As always my panorama for the WWP is photographed somewhere in my hometown Essen.

The Margarethenhöhe.

I like the very special and different Atmoshere of this small quarter of a really busy town in the center of the "Ruhrgebiet".

It was build between 1906 and 1938 and is named after its founder, Margarethe Krupp. (Yes, from the Krupp company.)

Planned by the architect Georg Metzendorf, a member of the Werkbund association, the Margarethenhöhe is one of the most consistent attempt to realise the idea of the garden city movement.
