Not every forest is an ancient woodland that's been there for hundreds of years or naturally grown from saplings. Some, like this one, is man-made for commercial reasons. The farm that owns it also owns a lot of other fields in the area too and supplies to both the public and other businesses. The cultivating of Christmas Trees is big business, just imagine running a business where all your income to last the whole year is taken in just a few weeks.

The trees you see here are not quite the classic shape, this is trimmed into them nearer Christmas. But this doesn't mean that they don't require any tending during the rest of the year. A person would normally walk the field making sure that everything is healthy and growing fine, after all the trees are the money.

The worst thing about taking this panorama was trying to find the public footpath through the forest. When you look at the map it's clearly marked, but by the time you get there you are presented with a wall of trees with no clear path to be found. From that point on you are side-stepping tree after tree hoping that you are still heading in the right direction.
