In the Maremma area, Southern Tuscany, there is a fascinating, straight road flanked by centenaries cypresses. This 5 km long road, heading toward the beautiful Bolgheri village, was built at the beginning of 19th century and still has 2000 cypresses. It was celebrated by a famous Ode "Davanti San Guido" written by the the poet Giosuè Carducci, the first Italian to win Nobel Prize in 1906.

This ode is learned even today by all Italian students: we might say that these trees are probably among the most famous in Italy.
