The 8 m high platform on Remel was built in 1901 by the Swiss Topographical Bureau (today swisstopo) and used as a military outlook during WWI. It was renovated in 2005 and after climbing the leader you have a great view on the surrounding hills of the Jura region.
Typical trees in these woods are spruce (Picea abies Karst), pine tree (Pinus sylvestris L.), fir tree (Abies alba Mill., Abies pectinata DC.), beech (Fagus sylvatica L.), oak (Quercus robur L.).
