Spruce (Picea abies Karst) is the most prevalent tree in Switzerland. Probably most of the trees in this panorama are spruce trees. In this particular forest we can likely also expect fire trees (Abies alba Mill.), pine trees (Pinus sylvestris L.), beech trees (Fagus sylvatica L.) and some other species. 60% of the harvested wood in Switzerland is used for construction and furniture etc, 40% are used in small cut pieces by the paper industry, for manufacturing construction material and for energy production.
