Every place in the "Old World" has a lot of history and so has my city. The main subject in the panorama is also the youngest piece of history. The bronze statue depicts the Bremen Town Musicians, a folktale recorded by the Brothers Grimm. The statue by Gerhard Marcks, was erected in 1953. To the left of it, the Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall), which was built from 1909-1913, is the domicile of the Mayor, the Senate Chamber and the government of the Land Bremen. The next building to the left, is the "Liebfrauenkirche" church. This church was built in 1020 and extended in the 12th Century. To the right of the bronze statue we see the side wall of the (Old) Town Hall. It was built between 1405 and 1409. In the panorama further, to the right of it, at the opposite side of the market square, we can can see the "Schütting," which was built 1537-1538 as a Flemish-inspired style Guild Hall.
