"Candle Night" is an environmental movement. It calls on people to turn off their electric lights for two hours from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m on the summer and winter solstices. Instead, people are encouraged to use candles for light.
I took this picture in Omotesando. This point is about 30 meters in elevation above sea level. The "Flood Map" shows that most of the beaches in Japan will be lost by 1 meter rise of sea level. Candle Night is an opportunity to think about our daily life.
