As my brother Jürgen came for a visit at this WWP weekend, he had to find a location near Munich. As we dicussed possible locations we remembered some very colorful subway stations of the Munich U-Bahn. We decided to take some pictures at the station Candidplatz and at the station Westfriedhof which are both extremely colorful stations. So you find a panorama of the U-Bahn station Westfriedhof in this entry and a panorama of the U-Bahn station Candidplatz at my brothers entry.

Making Of

The shooting was done with a 3.15 meter (appx. 10.33 ft) pole to reach a more elevated viewpoint above the platform. The pole was extended to appx. 2.5 meter (appx. 8.20 ft). The lens was mounted with a custom made bracket, which allows to mount the lens to turn around the no-parallax point of the lens.

As the lens is a fisheye lens, four pictures easily cover 360°. Due to the lighting conditions I took five exposures at each direction. The best exposed set was chosen before stitching.

Nadir and zenith were retouched manually.
