As I'm not living in Koeln (Cologne), for me the Central Station is always the first and the most important place in town, right in the middle. From here, the dark-red Thalys train is just leaving for France, the high-speed ICE trains heading to other cities, and the red local trains connecting to the suburbs. As you see in the foreground, just in front of the dome, the citizens of Koeln prefer their bicycles for short distances.

Equipment
I started with 32 shots from an inexpensive Rollei 3500 digicam with a 28mm lens and everything adjustable, using a tripod with a self-made pano head. The shots were stitched with PTGui; the result was a 10000x5000 px equirectangular JPEG image used for viewing. The JPEG was then downscaled and converted to QTVR.
