"Jinrikisha" is the main transportation of Japan that is born in Tokyo for about 140 years from now, had been active for about 60 years until ago.
It is survived in detail now as the guide of the sightseeing spot. This movie is a scene before leaving the parade of a local festival with Japan. The bride who is riding in the "Jinrikisha" is a true bride who is not a model. It is a scene from which the tradition beauty of Japan.

滋賀県は湖東・近江八幡から五個荘にかけての一帯は、近江商人発祥の地として知られており、伊藤忠、西武、日清紡、日本生命、ワコールなど日本の財界の中心となる企業の創業者が生まれ育った場所でもあります。特に五個荘（ごかのしょう）には、呉服商社の創業者が多く輩出され、今でも外与、外市、塚喜商事などの京都室町を代表する企業がこの地から生まれています。

そんな五個荘で毎年秋分の日に開催されるのが「ぶらりまちかど美術館・博物館」です。今もなお白壁・土壁の佇まいを今に残す五個荘の町並みは、時代を築いた商人とともにその文化を伝えようとしていますが、このようなまちの歴史や文化を築いた人々の足跡を偲び、その高い芸術・文化に触れる機会を提供しようと町を挙げて開催されるお祭りです。毎年多くの観光客がこのお祭りを訪れ、様々な催しを楽しんでいます。
その中でもひときわ喝采を浴びるのが、「近江商人時代絵巻がゆく」と称された時代行列です。近江商人のてんびん魂を求め、古き佳き時代の大正ロマンの近江商人時代絵巻行列が、白壁と蔵・屋敷の街五個荘を練り歩きます。
約100年前の日本の風俗絵巻の様相を呈したこの行列では、先頭にちんどん屋の鳴りものが登場し、その次に登場するのが当時の婚礼スタイルの新郎新婦です。花婿は紋付袴でりりしく、花嫁は豪華絢爛な色打掛を纏います。例年ですと新郎新婦役はモデルが務めますが、今年は何と本物の新郎新婦が登場！この冬に結婚式を挙げるお二人が式に先立ちお披露目も兼ねての登場です。本当にお似合いのカップルです。

さて、お二人がそれぞれ乗ってるのが「人力車」。
今では観光地の案内役として見るだけになってしまいましたが、100年ほど前までは今で言うタクシーの役割を果たしていた、単身移動手段の筆頭でした。 今から約140年前の東京で生まれた人力車は、それまでは駕籠や馬に頼っていた移動手段に代わって一気に広まり、都会のシンボルとして日本中の都市園で普及しました。しかし20世紀に入るや否や、タクシーと自転車のめざましい発展と普及は、人力車を利用していた人々を吸収する結果となり、かつての道路輸送の王者を片隅に追いやりました。

そんな昔を偲ぶ機会に絶好の乗り物が、この人力車というわけです。新郎新婦の古式ゆかしき姿と相俟って、情緒に一層の花を添えています。
