This panorama is part of a series of 20 taken of the church sanctuary over a 15month period starting before the COVID pandemic and finishing during the pandemic. The images were taken from exactly the same position at every shoot, not easy as the floor was removed, and the building extensively refurbished during the work.

Taken from the rear of the sanctuary, this shot shows how the tradesmen access their work in the roof space with a “Cherry Picker”. From the picture the Cherry picker is confined in the building but believe it or not the hoist can become small enough to enter and exit the building through the small door on the left. Once it opens, it seems so big that it must be stuck in the building with no escape, like a ship in a bottle.

Can’t see the Cherry Picker? Look above your head!

This was mainly used to travel into the roof space for audio/visual, fire and lighting cabling inside the roof-space.

Equipment

Sony A7 Mk2, Prime F2 28mm Nodal Ninja 3ii
