The city of Bangor in North Wales.

Snow down in Bangor is quite rare (once twice a year) because it is right next to the sea which acts as a temperature buffer. The water you see is the Menai Strait which is actually the sea - it divides Anglesey from mainland Wales and there are only two bridges. The Menai Suspension Bridge which you can see built by Thomas Telford in 1826 and the Britannia bridge a bit further back.

City vs town in the UK

Traditionally, the term “city” in the UK was a designation bestowed upon towns that had a cathedral. This practice dates back to the Middle Ages, when cathedrals were viewed as signs of importance.
However, this criterion has evolved. Nowadays, the difference between a town and a city in the UK is largely a matter of legal status. A town becomes a city by receiving a royal charter, a formal document issued by the monarch. There’s no strict criteria for city status; it’s often granted as part of significant events like royal jubilees or major anniversaries.

Bangor is a city in the traditional way - we've got a cathedral.
