...at least not living ones. So I had to travel some kilometers across muddy forest roads by bike to reach it (you can see the bike leaned against a tree).

This is Germany's tallest tree, located near Günterstal which is an urban district of Freiburg.

It's a Douglas Fir, 66m tall at the moment and still growing, surrounded by almost equally high trees.
