Have you ever spent a day and half in a new city on a whim? Back in March that is exactly what I convinced Landis to do with me in Amsterdam. Basically 40 hours of whirlwind sightseeing aided by podcast walking tours.

Our time was short, we met in Schiphol Airport at 14:00 on 20 March and proceeded to the trains to get to central station. We had no real idea where we were going to sleep for the two nights stay I had planned. We did know that our flight out was at 10:00 Friday morning 22 March. We also knew we had a date with Aldo and Tessa, our Dutch friends, on Thursday night for dinner.

In the intervening time we spent walking around the city's canals and streets taking in the sights and ambiance. We spent just enough time to whet the appetite for more experiences of the area.
