I was working with the two large VR projects in the year 2007 - Virtual museum of architect Jože Plečnik and visualisation of Slovenian Alps. I did over 1K new VR panoramas even the progress with the Alps was quite slow. All was a parallel work with my everyday work, family, study and "social gathering". It was October 17th, one day before my birthday. I went to University in the early morning and then a one hour drive from Ljubljana to Jezersko, which is a mountain valley on the northern side of Kamnik Alps. The planed tour was a full day climbing, so my departure from the valley was very late... but I was with a excellent condition and was quickly on the elevation of 2000 m (with the start on 900 m). It was a great feeling - to be alone in the wilderness. The temperature was under zero but calm and no clouds, so I continued to climb from Jezersko sedlo to "Velika Baba" mountain ("Big old ugly woman"), a bit afraid about low sun but not with the panic as I had three hours time to the sundown. From Velika Baba mountain to Mala Baba mountain is very narrow mountain ridge with abyss on the both side which could be passed with the normal weather condition in about half hour... suddenly very strong wind started to blow and I needed over one hour to pass the ridge. On the top of Mala Baba the Sun was coming to the horizon but I was quickly down to Jermanova planina on the elevation of about 1650 m. I entered into the larch forest and the light of the sundown made forest glowing in a warm colors - it was like in a fairy tale. I set up my monopod and shot a self portrait in the middle of the forest... tired but happy with the new energy for a cabinet work. From here I needed less than two hours of the decent to the parking place where I came in a complete dark. My only companies that day were jackdaws...
