This is the greenhouse of succulent plants, in the Botanical Gardens of the University of Torino. Succulent plants have always fascinated me. Particularly the Lithops, or living stones, that can be seen in the left area.

The Royal Botanical Gardens of Torino were founded by Vittorio Amedeo II in 1729, but living plants collections in Piemonte date back to 1560. The Gardens are located on one side of the Valentino Castle, in front of the Po river. Today the hosted species amount to 4000.

Questa è la serra delle piante succulente, nell'Orto Botanico dell'Università di Torino. Le piante grasse, o succulente, mi hanno sempre affascinato alquanto. Specialmente le Lithops, o pietre viventi (living stones), visibili verso sinistra.

Il Regio Orto Botanico dell'Università di Torino è stato fondato da Vittorio Amedeo II nel 1729, ma collezioni di piante vive in Piemonte risalgono al 1560. L'Orto si trova su un lato del Castello del Valentino, di fronte al fiume Po. Le specie attualmente ospitate ammontano a 4000.
