On the way from the very south of Italy back to Munich I wanted to stay overnight in Ravenna. But to much traffic on the highways made me arrive in Ravenna very late. After looking for a hotel room for two hours, I gave up and returned to the highway to continue driving home. Meanwhile my wife searched via internet successfully for a hotel with a vacant room in Faenza. We arrived there around midnight. Tired, hungry and thirsty we left the hotel a few minutes later towards the nearby Piazza del Popolo with some bars. Some people were still there and the warm night on this peaceful square with its historical buildings was overwhelming. The decision to stay here one more night and shoot some panos was done immediately. - Faenza is a small town with nearly 60000 inhabitants in the Emilia Romana, south-east of Bologna. In the Renaissance the city became very famous for its elaborate pottery, which had been exported to many European countries.
