I took my first really high resolution panoramas in Maine this summer, with the little Sony NEX-5n. This one was stitched at 680 megapixels from 65 shots with a 28mm lens. Even reduced drastically for the WWP, it looks nice, but you really should see it at 330 Mpix.

The scene is the channel separating the two big Fox Islands, North Haven (across the water) and Vinalhaven, which are among the many islands scattered across Penobscot Bay. The dock and house belong to a 96 year old Philadelphian who has been summering here since the 1950s.

I got a true 1-gigapixel pano 30 miles farther east on Mount Desert Island's Somes Sound.
Equipment
Asahi Takumar 28mm w/ cirular polarizer on Sony NEX-5n, Nodal Ninja 3 MkII panohead, Gitzo Gilux Sport tripod; Adobe camera raw, PTGui Pro, Adobe Photoshop
