New Year 2006 for me began near the top of Amberg's St. Martin church steeple. In hindsight, it wasn't a good idea to shoot panoramas of a firework amidst a bunch of people that are determined to congratulate right at midnight, while the photographer is determined to shoot at the very same time and wouldn't mind (at least not for the next few minutes) not being bothered with champagne and shaking hands...

Well, despite some people seriously bumping into the tripod, constant drizzle and the swaying of the balcony, the long exposures made for a colorful night scene.
