About the Photographer
Trained as a Microbiologist with 15 years experience working with human viruses, I always had a fascination with panoramas and could often be found trying to align a series of film shots on top of mountains as a child. A few years ago, with the advent of digital cameras, I took up panoramic photography as a hobby, accepting a challenge to create a virtual tour of London in my spare time. The success of this inspired Panoramic Earth, which, before the time of Google Maps, would link panoramas to map images. The arrival of Google Maps changed all that, potentially opening up the whole world and making it easy to allow others to upload images too. A couple of years later, and Panoramic Earth became busy enough to take up on an almost full time basis. Since then I have travelled extensively taking 1000's of panoramas from around the world, adding them to the site. About Panoramic Earth - Established since 2005, Panoramic Earth aims to create a virtual tour of the world.
