Sisson's Peony Garden is a link to the forgotten past. If you get off the new 4 lane highway and go to Rosedale, you can experience part of the forgotten past. When you drive through Rosendale, Wisconsin, you see an interesting stone Windmill in a yard. If you drive there in the late spring, you will see hundreds of blooming peonies. This used to be a place where Wilbur Sisson planted, cared for and shared new varieties of Peonies with the world. Wilbur's life's work is mostly forgotten now. The garden has been taken up by wonderful volunteers who want to share his passion with the world so it is not forgotten.
Sisson's Peony Gardens is part of the
National Register of Historic Places.
