Full moon, the closest perigee meant king tides this weekend, all converging with the equinox. The sea's usual limit to covering and exposing the land.

Tsunami, as we have unfortunately recently witnessed, push that limit to more horrifying levels.

This low tide at 16.59 NZST 20 March 2011, measured -1.78 meters. As noted, the lens was approximately 88cm below "sea level."
