Belem is a part of the Portuguese capital Lisbon and contains a number of remarkable "sanctuaries" . Most of these sanctuaries are visible in the panorama, where more information about each of them can be found by the web hotspots provided there. (to make the hotspots visible click on the arrow with the question mark at the left bottom edge of the movie window, or see when the cursor turns to a world globe)

-Monument of the Discoverer

-Monastry of the Jeronimos

-the largest christmas tree in Europe (62m)

-the Cultural Center of Belem with all kind of events is a sanctuary for a lot of performing artists.

-from the viewpoint, where the panorama was taken, it is also visible the remarkable bridge " Ponte de 25 de Abril" named by the 1974 "Carnations" revolution in Portugal and the

-Cristo Rei (Christ the King) monument which might remind a bit of the Cristo Redentor on the Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro.
