Managing Director of VRShed: http://www.vrshed.com . PhD in high fidelity simulation, addicted to multiuser virtual worlds and chocolate.

Personal aim is to raise the world of modelling, visualisation and simulation to a new level of fidelity through innovations in simulation. Exploring the phenomenon of merging social networks and virtual worlds.

Head of the following projects: the UWA Second Life Project, UWA Virtual Universe Project, a Web 3D virtual world which includes the campus grounds; and the UWA Google Earth project. Also technical lead on a virtual classroom project for Curtin University.

Chair of the SIGGRAPH MultiUser Virtual Environments Meetings (MUVEMoots): http://www.muvemoot.com . Presented papers and tutorials at a number of international conferences, including SIGGRAPH, Graphite and Cyberworlds. Lead the UWA team which won the 2007 Google Australia-New Zealand virtual campus competition and started the 3D UWA campus on Google Earth. Honorary Research Associate, School of Physics, UWA.

Member of the Association of Virtual Worlds. Contributor to the Web3D Consortium and X3D Earth initiative.

Contributions to the world community are the Rez open source geospatial software http://www.rez3d.com and the open source earth map project: planet-earth on sourceforge.
