For the second autumn equinox in a row, I found myself on a beach photographing kites. This time, though, I think the connection with the World Wide Panorama theme needs no explanation...

This was the second year of Margate's Big Sky International Kite Festival, and it was favoured with excellent weather. A few hardy souls were even braving the water. The real interest, though, was provided by the legions of kites from all over the world - the giant soft "artistic" kites shown here, and the displays of spectacular flying in the show arena. One of the exhibitors from Belgium, responsible for that chromatic chain of sharks, had even anticipated the WWP theme with their choice of name: True Colors.
