Beach huts have been a common sight around the British coastline since the start of the 20th century. They have provided visitors to the seaside with a place to store everything needed to make their stay on the beach more comfortable, and when the unpredicable UK weather conditions take a turn for the worse, these little wooden sheds offer the bather a place of shelter.
The huts at Whitby are quite modest compared to some others found around our coast. But the brightly painted colour scheme makes up for their diminutive stature.
