The construction of the Valparaiso's Subway began in 1999, with the remodeling of the very old existing stations, adapting them to the new uses.
The construction of a tunnel of more than 5 km was necessary in order to connect Caleta Abarca and El Salto in Viña del Mar.

The Valparaiso`s Subway was inaugurated the 23 of November of the 2005.
Valparaiso is nowadays the Main Port of CHILE.

Los trabajos del Metro de Valparaíso se iniciaron en 1999, con la remodelación de las vetustas estaciones existentes, adecuándolas a los nuevos usos que posteriormente se les daría, homologándolas arquitectónica y funcionalmente.
La construcción de un túnel de más de 5 km fue necesario para conectar Caleta Abarca y el sector de El Salto en la comuna de Viña del Mar.

Fue inaugurado el 23 de noviembre del 2005 por el Presidente Ricardo Lagos Escobar.
Valparaíso es hoy en día el Principal Puerto de CHILE.
