The brigde, beside Amposta city, cross the Ebro river near his delta, the large river in Spain.

This suspension bridge was built in 1915 by J.Eugenio Ribera, his main span is 135 meters, and has two towers of 24 meters. It was Bombarded in 1938 during spanish civil war, and restored between 1939 and 1942. Only a few of this kind survive in Spain.

It was a big step in transportation, made with boats before his construction, and carried a lot of traffic for all XX century. Some Amposta city people remember it as his own Brooklyn Bridge, and more because his road cross his city.

Today, as other old bridges, has been surpased by others nearby highways bridges. But this bridge has a new opportunity, this year has been approved a full restoration with a budget of 2.6M €. This time we hope that shine as the true symbol of Amposta city.

Also, this 2006 year Amposta city is named "Capital of Catalonia Culture". http://www.amposta2006.org

Behind the scene : how this panorama was made
This panorama was made after finish a bike ride around a green railway http://www.ffe.es/viasverdes/fichas_htm/terraalta/ficha_terraalta.htm

Although there was very beautiful places while riding, and a good transportation topic, no one likes me to make a pano because they were big landscapes, bad for my low resolution equipment. Then I select this bridge because his notability and made it without tripod, as you can see. Then as you can see also there are some stitching errors.
