Gardens can be a place of sanctuary - a place where you can be alone to contemplate life. Having just built a new house, my garden consists mainly of mud and rocks at the moment. I really miss having a place to hide in.

All going well it will soon have some of the features of this garden which belongs to a good friend of mine. I am a martial artist, and this garden was designed by a fellow martial artist to be a place where you are surrounded by nature. A private little retreat where you can train and practice you karate, or just sit and listen to the sounds of nature.

This garden is in the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne. It has a beautiful blend of Australian native flora, a large avery containing a variety of birds and a small pond with lots of fish (not visible in the panorama). Just visible beside the house is a small dojo which overlooks the garden. It is a great place to visit and forget about the worries of the world.
Equipment
Nikon D100, Sigma 8mm mounted on a lovely bophoto lens bracket.
