This is a simple illustration to "visualize" the greenhouse effect. Just for the record - the smoke is not real ; ) The smoke and greenhouses were added in 3D and rendered to a panorama which was then composited with the original.

Here is a link to a small animation showing that car puffing out smoke and greenhouses..

Equipment
Olympus C-7070WZ with Raynox DCR-CF185 PRO circular fisheye. Nodal Ninja 3 panohead on Cullman tripod (collapsed). 3D part rendered with particles/volumetrics in Lightwave.
Behind the scene : how this panorama was made
This was originally a straight spherical panorama, shot with the camera close to the ground. "HDR-Lite", with 2 merged exposures (2EV) for each of the 4+1 shots. Then I used Lightwave 3D to generate a particle "fountain", to which I added Hypervoxels for smoke/exhaust as well as greenhouse instances. The pano was mapped to a sphere surrounding the scene, and used for aligning the objects with the pano. Then I rendered the 6 cubefaces (95deg fov) and used PTgui to generate the pano as well as a mask. Then those 3 pano files were comoposited in PS/CS3, with the mask used as a layer mask for the smoke/greenhouse rendering. The layer mask was also given a slight blur and Levels treatment.
