The theme Marketplace has many representations here at the WWP. The subject of this pano is Stew Leonard's - if you are from around southwest Connecticut or nearby New York this place needs no explanation, everyone has heard of Stew's. If you have never been here, then you're in for a treat if you ever do visit Stew Leonard's.

Originally a small dairy store, Stew Leonard's is now a large finely tuned family run operation which offers a multitude of fresh products to the people of this region. Stew's has the feel of a farmers market indoors - lots of natural wood and produce set out in bins. The aisles wind around the store taking you to new areas and all the different products. Stew's is literally a cornucopia of fresh - fresh baked bread, freshly roasted coffee, fresh milk bottled right on the premises, fresh meats, fruits and vegetables and much much more. Customers are offered free samples of food at every turn and are entertained by singing animatronics and several wandering employees dressed up as cows and ducks. Everyone has fun shopping at Stew's.

The Leonards have taken the concept of market to a new and unique level and their customers seem to love the experience and ambience as much as the food. I had to get there early to avoid the daily crowds of shoppers that literally jam the aisles.

Behind the scene : how this panorama was made
Many thanks to Meghan Flynn of Stew's for setting this up for me - also to Rich Lung and Jill Leonard Tavello for OK'ing it. Stew Leonard's is usually too crowded to easily shoot a scene like this but Meghan somehow knew when the best time would be and helped make it happen.

Cheers to all the Team Members at Stew's!
