This picture shows the city of Medellin with several of its most important sights. Botero (a sculpture who was born in Medellin), the “Metro,” the “Nutibara” (an old hotel that was the most important of the city and the tallest in its time), building “Coltejer” (to see the light it was necessary to demolish the old and beautiful theater “Junin” we regret that even today).

The panorama was taken from an old government building that is now the Palace of Culture and beautifully reconstructed. The building dates from 1928, it was designed by the Belgian architect Agustin Govaerts, which, fortunately, was saved from demolition. I am located in a small terrace up as close as possible to grasp the railing outside and to emphasize the architecture of the site. I waited for the metro to have it in the panorama to show the atmosphere of downtown Medellin, the Second City of Colombia.
