Caption
The FlowRider is a 32 by 40 foot surf simulator which produces a wave by pumping 34,000 gallons of water per minute up a padded incline. It is one of the many attractions on Royal Caribbean's newest and largest cruse ship in the world, The Freedom of the Seas. Just before I photographed the FlowRider, I tried it myself. It was one of the more unique experiences you can have at sea, except maybe the rock climbing wall, miniature golf course or ice skating rink, some of the ships other attractions.
