Perhaps a bit farfetched but with some imagination, there are three situations of ""crossing" to see in this picture. Ahead is the ferry for the traffic across the river. In the background is the sunset that marks the transition between day and night and further down the river the boat is sailing along the banks of the river. The light of the sunset changes the colour continuously and makes the surroundings quite picturesque. It fits well with Autumn's arrival.
