The Chase Tower, located in Phoenix, Arizona, where Central crosses Monroe, is the tallest building in the state. Built in 1972, the 40-story building is 472 feet (147 m) tall. Originally there was a public observation area on the 39th floor but it was closed when the upper floors where remodeled. Now the public can only enjoy the skyscraper from this vantage point.
