Pétanque is the most popular bowl game in France. In the southernmost part of the country and especially in the Provence region, pétanque and jeu provencal are both a game and a real sport as well. Every youth there dreams of eventually becoming a champion when he will be an adult!

The sunny weather was, on last Sunday, ideally giving our countryside the look of the Riviera near Grasse. To play pétanque on the crossing road over the busy motorway is kind of a challenge that seemed to be funny to report to the WWP September equinox event. That road is temporarily closed to the traffic. Only the song of cicadas was missing...

For sure there are better and friendlier places for performing this leisure pastime, but it has been a funny—if not really quiet—photographic endeavor!
