Mrs. H. Zapf, practicing at the recently renovated pipe organ of the Lutheran "Erlöserkirche" (Savior’s church) in Amberg, Bavaria.
The church, designed by architect Gustav Gsaenger, was opened on September 16th of the year 1967, and the pipe organ was added a year later, 1968. This year, 2009, the organ was disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt with an additional register of pipes. The new, enhanced organ was unveiled with a celebration only two weeks ago (but, alas, outside the timeframe of this WWP).
Mrs. Zapf has been playing the organ for the Sunday (and other) church services for thirty years, and still she practices several times per week.
