Made of steel, glass and white concrete, the building includes a monumental dome that is 200 metres long and 35 metres high.
This station is one of the most important Belgian transportation hubs as it is part of the TGV network (high-speed train) and is used by 36,000 people every day.
The station was officially inaugurated on September 18th, 2009, with the show "Gare à vous" by Franco Dragone, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
