Sustenance is a continuance. To live we depend on the nourishment of our environment. Air, water, food, all brought to us thru the generosity and cooperation of a burning star, and mother earth. Adding community to the contributors list, we now belong. It follows then, for me, sustenance is also about belonging. Here, friends gather to watch the sunrise on the vernal equinox. Standing on the summit of Camels Hump in the Green Mountains of Vermont, one of the oldest mountains on earth, we watch the changing shadow on the Champlain Valley floor below.
