The chief mode of transportation in the United Stated is the Automobile. With the highest per-capita car ownership of anywhere on the planet, we also have the largest number or auto repair facilities. We may not have invented the automobile, but Ford created the assembly-line method for mass-production of cars. All those cars need service, upkeep and repairs.

Independent service centers far outnumber dealers, and these guys keep the cars on the road. This image was shot at European Cars of Evergreen Park, a family owned business that specializes in foreign cars (foreign for the USA anyway.)
