You may experience different means of transportation standing on the Southern Bridge crossing the river Rhine in Cologne. Here, more than 300 freight trains are crossing the Rhine every day. Beneath the bridge there are tourist boats with people who like to visit the Rhine. Cargo-ships transport containers on their way between Basel and Rotterdam. One cargo-ship may carry up to 400 containers. The Southern Bridge is also quite important for local bicycle traffic, although it is quite uncomfortable to carry your bike upstairs ;-)
